"My first landscape/nursery experiences were in the Taconic Mountains in New York and later in Virginia where I transplanted large trees from forrests to villages and farms.
Much of my training in landscape design was in the 1970s at the University of Texas.
I subsequently established a nursery in Austin, and then an active design and landscape company in the Travis County Hill area.
I enjoyed bringing my talents in the 1990s to the Pacific Northwest where I establisheed Naka Nursery. Our company landscaped urban and rural properties in Washington and in British Columbia.
When we relocated to San Miguel, we continued NAKA Landscape Design. We enjoy creating and maintaining properties in Mexico.
We strive for excellence in design and planting at the best value."
"As a child I learned how to raise olive trees, and assure that they thrived in the Pacific Northwest. I learned a lot about planting trees when we planted Sequoias and Red Woods on Pacific islands off of Canada’s west coast. Now I'm planting gardens in Mexico. In June 2020 I created and planted an 18-tree avocado garden!"
"I have enjoyed designing, creating and planting groves within our designs and constructions. I like to create and plant collections of fruit trees. My most recent 2 groves include 14 árboles de aguacate and 7 varietales de cítricos!"
"I enjoy our natural geography. In our work I strive to introduce shrubs and trees that show Mexico's unique beauty."
